First of all, you must have an unaltered set of Word 5 installer disks. If you have already ruined your original disks there is nothing I can do to help you except to remind you to ALWAYS LOCK YOUR ORIGINAL DISKS. If the program requires you to unlock the disk, make a copy first! Whenever you buy a new piece of software, always lock the disk before you even stick it in the drive.
Take the (unaltered) 1st disk of the Installer set. This disk should be labeled "Install" as opposed to "Program", "Commands", "Converters", or "Proofing Tools". Make a disk to disk copy of it. Unlock the copy. Use the copy to install Word 5.0. To delete the personalization info: copy the file "Word Installer" from the locked original onto the copy. The copy will now have no personalization info. To change the personalization on an existing Word: Delete only the application "Microsoft Word". Then using the copy of the "Install" disk with a fresh copy of the "Word Installer" file on it, install only "Word 5.0 Program" using the customization option.
